Acoustic Element

Starting out as a violin and guitar duo performing at weddings as a weekend hobby, Acoustic Element has quickly become one of Cape Town’s most contemporary acts.

When cousins Callen Petersen and Jody Abel combined their musical talents, and extraordinary combo was born!  Callen on the violin and Jody on the acoustic guitar make up the musical duo – Acoustic Element.

Since their arrival on the Cape Town entertainment scene, Acoustic Element has performed alongside some of the city’s hottest performers, including Jimmy Nevis, Chad Saaiman and Auriol Hays.

The duo has a diverse repertoire and is able to adapt their genre to suit any desired style and taste.

From Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” and Bach’s “Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring” – to well known rock favorites, including Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer” and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”.  They will take you on a trip down memory lane with their rendition of Frank Sinatra’s old school classics “Fly me to the Moon” and “Sway”, before breaking it down with chart topping hits such as Lorde’s “Royals”, Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me”.
